Gary Calhoun

We sadly announce the passing of Gary Calhoun, who took his final breath on the evening of June 18, 2025, at 9:34 PM. He was 56 years old.

Gary was born on February 11, 1969, to Eugene and Mary Jane Calhoun. A true light in his community, Gary was known for his selflessness, generosity, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone around him. His presence made an impact, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

A skilled craftsman and dedicated business owner, Gary took great pride in his work. Using his creative talents and years of hard-earned skill, he remodeled homes that somehow feel alive with his spirit. Though his work was never in the spotlight, it quietly shines in every corner. A testament to his care, vision, and the lasting mark he left on the world around him.

A celebration of life will be held at 6PM on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory with Olivia Poole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Calhoun, grandparents Roy & Minnie Farmer and Ralph & Dallie Calhoun. He is survived by his beloved husband, Bryce Chlebek; his mother, Mary Jane Calhoun; and his sisters Genia Anderson (Rickey) and Connie Coggins (David). He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends who will carry his memory forward with love.

In honoring Gary’s life, we remember a man whose legacy is etched not only in the things he built but in the lives he touched.
