Erik Griswold

Mr. Erik Griswold passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham after a six-year battle with colon cancer. He was 60 years old.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Franklin County Church of Christ in Royston, Georgia.

Erik was born February 27, 1966, in Troy, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Crocker Griswold; and grandparents, Clayborn and Irene Griswold, Connie B. Crocker, Molly Adele Crocker. Erik was an extremely intelligent man who was a dedicated father and husband. He was very proud of his time spent as a minister of the Church of Christ in Franklin County, Georgia. He was an inspiration to so many who saw him courageously fight stage 4 cancer for so many years.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Michelle Griswold; son, Austin Griswold (Annie) of South Carolina; father, Anthony Griswold; siblings, Tim Griswold (Anay) and Amanda Chandler (Lee); sister-in-law, Lisa Little (Mike); nephews, Andrew Griswold, Coty Akin, Malachi Little, and Nathanial Little; and nieces, Shea Smith (Chaves) and Faith Greene (Kevin).

Erik will be deeply missed by his family, but he leaves a great legacy of hard work, determination, and bravery as he fought through many difficult years.
