Elmer Eugene Mcnutt

Elmer Eugene McNutt of Coffee Springs, Alabama passed away March 30, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was 74.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home at 10AM on the 5th of April 2024 with Philip Box officiating, and Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends starting at 9:30AM until service time.

Elmer was born February 15, 1950 in Michigan to the late Elmer and Loretta McNutt. He was also preceded in death by his brother William “Bill” McNutt and his sister Jacquelyn “Jackie” Sexton.

Elmer served his country in Vietnam and landed with the 23 Engineer Battalion Hanau, Germany where he meet his wife of 52 years. He would later become an Army Helicopter Pilot and the two of them served together at several bases until his retirement at Ft. Polk Louisiana. Ft. Rucker Alabama became home in retirement and they built many memories together on their little farm.

Survivors include his wife Julia McNutt, son Shawn E McNutt (Justine) of Starkville, MS and Christopher E. McNutt of Coffee Springs, AL, Rafif McNutt. Sisters Kay Pagel (Dave) and Nona McNutt, and five grandchildren Gwendolynn Grace, Alec Sebastian, Brady Derek, Samuel Augustus, and Sima Valentina.
