Eleanor Marie Fody

Eleanor Fody passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the age of 103. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Fody.

Born on April 11, 1921, Eleanor was a loving and devoted military wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, especially her great-great-granddaughter, Elliot Rose, whose visits brought her endless happiness.

Eleanor enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, from savoring chocolate and sweets to watching Hallmark movies and episodes of Murder, She Wrote. Her favorite color, blue, reflected her calm and loving spirit. She was always doing things for others, never judged, and loved without exception. Above all, we will remember her beautiful and warm smile, which brightened every room and touched every heart.

She is survived by her children, Karen Fody (Tom De Long), Diane Killett (Jim), and Jim Fody (Ronica); her grandchildren, Emmy Killett, Brianne Sing, and Brittany Killett (Sherron Henderson); her great-grandchildren, Hailey Sing (Cameron Sivils), Rylan Sing, and Brayden Killett; and her great-great-granddaughter, Elliot Rose Sivils.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Enterprise, Alabama. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise, Alabama, directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM and continuing until service time.

Eleanor’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by all.
