Edith Mae (Odom) Hall

Mrs. Edith Mae Hall of Elba, Alabama, passed away February 15, 2025, at her daughter’s residence in Dothan. She was 97.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Wise Mill Assembly of God Church  in Elba, Alabama, with Reverend Kenneth Hagler, Reverend Dustin Wisecarver, and Greg Banach officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 am until service time.

Mae was born December 14, 1927, in Holmes County, Florida, to the late Lester Dell and Clementa Odom. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hall; her daughter, Elaine Cartland; and her sons, Ronny Edward Hall and Larry Hall.

She was married to Melvin Hall for over 65 years.  Mae faithfully served the Lord and attended Wise Mill Assembly of God since 1969.  She loved her family, friends, and her church family.

Survivors include her son, Joe Hall (Debbie) of Elba; daughter, Doris Jane Kemp (Tony) of Dothan; son-in-law, Joe Cartland; four grandchildren, Greg Banach (Julie) of Montgomery, Daniel Banach of Prattville, Jamie Hall (Kimberly) of Louisiana, and Kristie Hall of Enterprise; ten great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
