Dorothy Sue Peters

Dorothy Sue Peters, 79, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise directing.

Mrs. Peters was born August 7, 1946, in Americus, Georgia, to the late Samuel Austin Smith and Sarah Bryan Smith. Mrs. Peters was the third child in her family of eleven brothers and sisters. She was employed at Enterprise Electronics before her retirement. She enjoyed life while listening to music, holiday family gatherings, gardening, and making numerous crafts and needle point. Mrs. Peters was a frugal lady who enjoyed shopping at thrift stores. She certainly knew how to stretch a dollar.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Samuel Needam Smith, and sister, Sara Anne Gray.

Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Peters. She also leaves behind eight brothers and sisters. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice in her honor.
