Dorothy Carroll Newman Legear

Dorothy Carroll Newman LeGear, of Enterprise, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. She was 90. Funeral services will be at 2:00 Friday, March 22, 2019 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory with Brother Billy Cardwell officiating. Burial will follow in Enterprise City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time. Dorothy was born January 23, 1929, in Coffee County, Alabama. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Daniel Reeder Newman; husband, John LeGear; father, Major Carroll; mother, Naomie Walker Carroll; brothers: William Carroll, Earsle Carroll, Cecil Carroll, and Neal Carroll; sisters: Mary Hatcher, Venarah Myers, and Matrice Carroll. Survivors include her children: Elizabeth Cox (Ronald) of Enterprise, Danny Newman (Erika) of Dothan, and Lita Newman of Enterprise; grandchildren: Timothy Robertson (Melinda), Danielle Woodham (Chris), Daniel Reeder Newman II, and Alison Fain (Daniel); four great- grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
