Dorothy Elaine (Laroy) Palmer

Dorothy Elaine Palmer, lovingly known as Dot, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Born on March 30, 1949, in Van Nuys, California, to Bill and Shirley LaRoy, Dot was a beacon of strength and creativity throughout her life. After graduating high school, she embarked on a journey filled with adventures, laughter, and deep connections with those around her.

Dot's husband of 40 years, James Palmer, reflected on their life together, stating, “In 80 years of life and more than half of it with her, I never knew a more loving person.” Her spirit shone brightly through her struggles, showcasing an unwavering love for art and an extraordinary capacity for compassion.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her son, Chester Palmer, as well as two precious granddaughters, Lillian Rose Manning and Lillian Palmer. Dot's legacy lives on through her husband Jim, her cherished children Stephanie Sloan (Scott), Callie Baker, Melanie Boggs (Eric), Ned Crisco (Amber), Cevin Palmer (Tam), Jimmy Palmer, and JD Palmer, and her siblings, Jim LeRoy and Barbara Liccetto (Robert).

Dot was a proud grandmother to Dalton, Brianna, Colby (Tiffany), Trevor (Jessica), Clara, Cevin A., Samuel, Meo Lai, Khoa Lai, Nina, John, Nathan, Eric, Megan, Alex (Brian), Ryann, Megann, Ginger, Seth, and Samuel. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the love and warmth she instilled in them.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Sorrels Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 11 AM, with burial to follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service to celebrate Dot's life and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.

Dot Palmer will be remembered for her boundless love, artistic spirit, and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
