Donnie Kennington

Donnie Kennington, of Elba, Alabama, passed away June 21, 2025, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was 70 years old.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Samson, Alabama, with Reverend Randall Pearson officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.

Donnie was born December 23, 1954, to the late Clyde and Bonnie Nelson Kennington. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Billy Kennington; and sisters, Faye Kennington, Margie Arnette, Shirley Oliver, and Ann Lumpkin.

Donnie was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team as well as a classic car enthusiast. He loved his cats, Tom Tom and Kia, dearly.

Survivors include his special nieces, Dawn Cook (Keith) of Jack, Tina Patrick (Thomas) and Misty Peters (Scott), both of Enterprise, and Cristy Hunnicutt (Jack) of Hunstville; brother-in-law, Lamar Oliver of New Brockton; and numerous other nieces and nephews..
