Donald F. Muraski

February 5, 1936 – August 4, 2025

Donald F. Muraski, 89, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away on August 4, 2025. Born February 5, 1936, in Wisconsin, Don was the youngest son of the late John and Sophie Muraski.

After graduating from high school, Don was drafted into the United States Army, where he served his country with honor. His military service led to a lifelong career in civil service, including work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he played a leading role in property development projects such as Fort Rucker. He later continued his service to the community by working for Coffee County and the Enterprise Country Club, where he applied his skills in design and maintenance. A man who loved hard work, Don remained active and productive well into his 80s.

After moving south, Don quickly became an “honorary Southerner,” embracing new traditions and learning to bake, and enjoy sweet treats, a skill passed on to him by his beloved mother-in-law, Oudia Bandy, who became like his own mother. Don also had a lifelong passion for sports, proudly cheering for both the Green Bay Packers and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Leta, a great-granddaughter Mary Milligan Woodham, his parents, and his eleven siblings.

He is survived by his children: Christi Zahm (Chad), their children, Mazie and Noah; Michael Muraski (Jennifer), their children, Alden and Emmett. Lisa Nolen (Randy), their children Seth (Crystal) and their children Grady and Lillian; Trent (Kasie) and children Joseph, Sarah, Hannah, and Matthew; and Caleb Nolen. Lori Woodham (Warwick), their children Cowan (Elizabeth), Walker, Charleston, and Townsand; John Wesley; and Isabella. Lyne Cooner (Joey), their children Trey, Todd, and Tabitha Cooner (Logan Terry), and granddaughter Aspen Ruth Terry. Todd Muraski (Paddi), and their children Molly and Owen. His sister Evelyn Engbretson. Don was also a bonus father, grand-father, and great-grand-father to Angela, Dania, Dantyn and Myomi Lane.

He will also be deeply missed by countless beloved friends and colleagues whose lives he touched.
