Daphne Darlene Marler, 59, of New Brockton, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Born on February 8, 1967, in Houston County, Alabama, Daphne was the daughter of the late Walter M. Strickland and Georgia N. Dykes Strickland. She spent much of her life in Coffee County, graduating from Enterprise High School in 1985, and was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.

Daphne worked in the food service industry for many years. She was known as a survivor whose faith in God sustained her through life’s many challenges. She loved deeply, worked hard, and continued to persevere even when life did not unfold as she had hoped. Those who knew her will remember her strength, determination, and unwavering spirit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Adkinson, and her sister Janice Doak.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, River Adkinson; her uncle, Leon Strickland, who loved her like a granddaughter; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and resilience.

In accordance with her wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that her struggles have ended and that her faith has given way to eternal peace. Daphne’s legacy of perseverance, love, and trust in God will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
