Daniel L. Grant

Mr. Daniel L. Grant of Northeast, Maryland, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at the age of 38 years old.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Pastor John Logsdon officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until service time. Burial with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.

Daniel was a true free spirit with a heart bigger than life. He had a smile and laugh that could light up a room, and a sense of humor that was completely his own. He had a gift for making people laugh and making everyone around him feel special.

Daniel was the kind of person who would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was always taking care of others, helping whenever he could, and would gladly give his last dime to someone in need. He loved deeply and gave freely.

One of the most beautiful things about Daniel was his ability to bring people together. No matter where he went or who he met, he had a way of making people feel welcome. He could bring strangers together and somehow make them feel like family. Daniel created connections everywhere he went, and the people who crossed his path often became part of his ever-growing circle of friends and loved ones. He didn’t just make friends—he made family.

To his mother, Rosalind, Daniel will always be the energetic little boy running around saying, “Give me hugs!” He kept her busy with his endless energy and hyper personality. As an adult, he never lost that playful spirit. He loved to imitate the way his mom laughed, often having the whole family rolling with laughter. And when he hugged her, his long arms could wrap around her twice. Those hugs will be treasured forever.

To his sister Natalie, Daniel was her beloved “big little brother.” Their bond was one that was difficult to explain to anyone else. They teased each other, laughed together, and could turn a simple phone call into an hour of stories and laughter because neither could ever seem to say goodbye and actually hang up. Daniel called her “Nata Weed,” one of the many silly memories that made their relationship uniquely theirs.

Daniel was also known as “Curly,” a nickname he earned from his head full of curly blonde hair. Even after joining the Army and having his hair shaved, the name stuck.

Daniel proudly served in the United States Army beginning in October 2010, traveling the world and experiencing adventures including time in South Korea. He was discharged in December 2017. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Computer Science and pursued work as a contractor. He was amazingly intelligent and could build computers from scratch—although, despite all that technology knowledge, he could never seem to text very fast.

Daniel was incredibly proud of his three daughters, Abigail Goodwin, Alexandria Grant, and Evelyn Grant. His girls were among the greatest loves of his life. He loved being their father and cherished the time he spent with them. He was proud of the young women they were becoming and loved them more than words could express.

Daniel was an incredible uncle to Gunner Glisson and Emma Hercus. Gunner was the first child in the family, and Daniel embraced being an uncle with his whole heart.

There are countless memories of Daniel and Gunner together, including washing cars side by side. One of Natalie’s favorite memories was being nervous the first time Daniel babysat Gunner, only to receive pictures of Daniel squirting milk into Gunner’s mouth like a baby bird. It was so completely Daniel that she couldn’t help but laugh.

Emma will forever remember her trip to the mountains with Uncle Daniel—and, of course, his crazy driving through the mountain roads. She and Daniel shared so many similarities in personality that you couldn’t help but notice them. His free spirit, humor, and spark live on in the children he loved.

Daniel loved children and cherished being a father and uncle. He had a special way of making the children in his life feel loved, safe, and important.

Daniel loved the beach, traveling, good food, playing card games, spending time with family and friends, and simply enjoying life. He was truly the life of the party. Wherever Daniel was, there was usually laughter.

He leaves behind his daughters, Abigail Goodwin, Alexandria Grant, and Evelyn Grant; his parents, Rosalind and Harry Henry; his sister, Natalie Grant; his niece, Emma Hercus; his nephew, Gunner Glisson; and many beloved family members and friends. He is also deeply missed by his many family members in England, who mourn his loss across the miles. 

Daniel leaves behind more than memories—he leaves behind laughter, stories, adventures, hugs, and pieces of himself in everyone who loved him.

He will be remembered for his generous heart, his crazy sense of humor, his unforgettable laugh, his free spirit, and especially for the way he brought people together and made everyone feel like family.

Daniel didn’t just pass through people’s lives. He connected them. He brought them together. He made them laugh. He made them feel loved.

He was loved deeply. He was one of a kind. He was our Daniel.
