Cw4 (Ret.) Homer Duell Jackson

CW4 (Ret) Homer Duell Jackson, of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 at his residence surrounded by family. He was 87.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Dr. Olivia Poole officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, July 19, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Homer was born February 17, 1936 in Kentucky to the late Morris Clinton and Martha Elam Jackson. He served his country in the United States Army where he retired as a CW4. He was awarded the National defense service medal, GCMDL Medal, NDSM Medal, ARCOM Medal as well many other medals and accommodations during his military career. In addition to his parents, his wife, Billie Frazier Jackson; son, William “Bill” Jackson; two sisters: Ruth Toomey, Esther Deaton all preceded him in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Monica Howard (Shawn); siblings, Shirley Grubb, Marcella Barnes, Roy Jackson (Lou), Sylvia Carter, Peggy Overbay (Jerry), Ron Jackson (Pam); grandchildren: Tiffany Jackson Watkins (Bryan), Carter Howard, Ryan Howard; great-grandchildren, Jackson Lawson, Madison Elizabeth Lawson; nephews, Aaron Dale Niebel (Carmalisa), Anthony Duell Niebel (Mary); and the most special of thanks to special friend Patricia Ruic.
