Carlie E Bryant Jr

Carlie E. Bryant Jr., of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his residence. He was 88 years old.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 3, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Ben Bowden and USA Col (R) Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday prior to the service beginning at 10:00am and continuing until service time.

Mr. Bryant was born October 29, 1934 in Pearson Georgia to the late Carlie E Bryant Sr. and Edna Mae Palmer Bryant. After highschool he joined the US Army and went to Fort Jackson South Carolina for basic training. After basic training he went to Korea from February 1953 - July 1954. He returned home to Marry Eddie Grace Grantham on December 7, 1955. Together they had two sons Carlie Evans "Butch" Bryant III on October 4, 1956 and Anthony Jay Bryant on September 29, 1962. He did two tours in vietnam from September 1964 -September 1965 and January 1967 - December 1968. He retired from the Army in 1972. After retirement they moved to Enterprise Alabama where he took a job at Lear - Seigler Inc. as Director of Primary Divisions.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Eddie Grace Bryant and sons Carlie Evans "Butch" Bryant III and Anthony Jay Bryant. Survivors include two grandchildren: Cole Bryant and Tabitha Bryant; One great-grandchild, Alex Bryant; one sister, Betty Jo Holden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
