Braxton Hussey

Braxton Hussey, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 1, 2025, after a short battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 80 years old and was lovingly surrounded by his wife of 62 years, Wynell, who stood faithfully by his side throughout his journey.

Born on July 28, 1945, in Coffee County, Braxton grew up on a farm where his spent his early years. He graduated from Enterprise High School in 1963 and soon found his way into the world of sales. His true lifelong career was selling cars. For more than 40 years, Braxton’s natural charm and friendly spirit made him a trusted and well-loved figure in the car business.

Retirement didn’t suit Braxton, as staying busy was simply part of who he was. He went on to work at Lowe’s for another 18 years, where he found purpose, friendships, and another place to pour his energy.

Above all else, Braxton was most proud of his family. He was a loving father to Greg Hussey (Robin) and Kathy Rombough, and a deeply cherished grandfather to Summer Bishop, Tyler Hussey, Derek Hussey, Joshua Hussey, Reagan Farmer (Loyd), Ali Stapleton, and Ruby Ann Stapleton. His great-granddaughter, Lili Rose Bishop, brought him so much joy. He was also blessed by the steadfast love and care of his sister-in-law, Phyllis Phillips, who remained faithfully by his side. He was also survived by his sister, Martha Anne Sanderson (Jim), and many nieces and nephews.

Braxton was preceded in death by his parents, Collice and Martha Hussey, and his beloved grandson, Christopher Rombough. Per his wishes, a small private graveside service will be held to honor the life of this remarkable husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Those who knew Braxton will remember his work ethic, his gift for conversation, and the love he poured into his family above all else.
