Betty Joyce Childree McCaffery Treadaway, 86, of Enterprise, entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family on August 25, 2025.

Born in Dale County to the late Gussie and Frank Childree, Betty was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Alonzo, Louise, Douglas, Sarah, Lydia Mae, Jimmy, Leon, Jane and grandson Ryan. She is survived by her loving sisters, Peggy and Susan, and her dear brother, Danny Paul.

Betty’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the proud mother of five children: Susie, Steve, Brenda, Norman (Cristy), and Amy (Lester). She leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by her grandchildren Michelle, Josh, Mandy, Dana, Zack, Justin, Kelsey, Austin, Kasey, Erin, Matt, Christina, and Amanda., many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family and the Lord, and the warmth she brought into every life she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise, with burial to follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in New Brockton; Dr. Chris Adams and Reverend Jim Endrihs officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 AM until service time.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to DaySpring Hospice, as well as the nurses and CNAs at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation—especially Kelly, Ashley, Robbie, and Carol—for their loving care and compassion.
