Betty Jean (Madaris) Mulkey

Betty Jean Mulkey, age 80, of Jack, Alabama, passed away on April 19, 2025, at Oakview Manor in Ozark, Alabama. Betty was born on December 30, 1944, to the late Fletcher and Willie Madaris in Troy, Alabama.

She and her husband Johnny loved sitting on the porch, swinging, and relaxing. Betty was passionate about cooking and cherished her time spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warm spirit touched everyone she met.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 54 years, she was also preceded in death by her son, Wayne Mulkey; son-in-law, Donald Archie; brother, Alford Madaris; and sisters, Kathleen Kilpatrick, Sybil Miller, and Collene Mulkey.

She is survived by her daughter, Pattie Archie; her beloved grandchildren, Jonathon Fleming (Sheree Branch), Bridget Senn (Donnie), Melissa Wilkerson (Cody), Heather Rodgers (Justin), Ashley Mulkey, and Justin Mulkey (Selene); sister-in-law, Jean Davis; special nephew, Charles Mulkey; numerous nieces and nephews; and eleven great-grandchildren who held a special place in her heart.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Haw Hill Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Jack, Alabama, with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends on Monday night from 4PM to 6PM at Sorrells Funeral Home as well as one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathon Fleming, Justin Mulkey, Charles Mulkey, Donnie Senn, Jayden Reeves, and Cody Wilkerson.
