Betty Jean Jones Averett of Enterprise passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022. She was 91.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise with Dr. Michael Mynatt officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory Directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. continuing until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hilllcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 500 Alberta Street, Enterprise, Alabama, 36330.
Mrs. Averett was born September 29, 1931, in Coffee County to the late Samuel and Carrie Bell Baston Jones. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Averett was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Byrd Averett; son, Kevin Dwain Averett; three brothers, Cecil Floyd Jones, Ray Clifton Jones, and Billy Mack Jones; one sister, Winnie Jones Honeycutt; one nephew, Robert Larry Honeycutt; and one daughter-in-law, Wendy Walden Averett.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Wade Averett (Kere) of Ivyland, Pennsylvania, and Mark Lenwood Averett of Enterprise; five grandchildren, Lindsey Wallace (Chris) of Gadsden, Alabama, Camaron Averett (Erica) of Orlando, Florida, Karlee Averett Ruben (Mike) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rory Averett (Carla) of Wilmington, Delaware, and Hollyn Averett of Ivyland, Pennsylvania; one great-granddaughter, Emery Madilyn Averett; two great-grandsons, Walker Lee Wallace and Elijah Bryce Averett; brother, Rex Hulon Jones (Hazel Ann) of Enterprise; and one sister-in-law, Patsy Chandler Jones of Warner Robbins, Georgia.
