Dr. Betty J. Harrison Kennedy

Dr. Betty J. Harrison Kennedy of Enterprise, AL passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019. She was 88. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Reverend Sonny Moore officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home directing. Dr. Kennedy was born July 31, 1930 in Butler County to the late William and Myrtle Harrison. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Kennedy; sisters, Trudie Colton, Jean Armstrong and Joyce H. Spitler; and brother, William J. Harrison. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to: First Baptist Church of Enterprise, 302 N Main St, Enterprise, AL 36330 Dr. Kennedy earned a Doctorate in Education Administration from Auburn University and served as Dean of Education at Troy State University Dothan Campus. Survivors include her son, Rodney Earl Kennedy of Enterprise; brother, John R. Harrison (Gloria) of Petaluma, CA; two grandchildren, Krysia Robertson and Beth Kennedy; three great-grandchildren, Katy Turvin, Alex Robertson and Bailee German; two great-great-grandchildren, Ally Bedsole and Marleigh-Kate Turvin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
