Alice Faye (Bowman) Crook

Ms. Alice Faye Crook of New Brockton, born January 25, 1941, passed away peacefully at home; surrounded by loved ones on May 25, 2025. She was 84.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 10AM in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Mark Ward and Rev. Larry Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Old Tabernacle Cemetery in New Brockton with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family we receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5PM to 7PM.

Ms. Alice was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose laughter, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She loved spending time in her yard and her green thumb made everything come to life.

She was born into a large and loving family, and was one of twelve siblings. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lonnie Bowman, her daughter, Kaye Ann Adaway, as well as four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her brothers, Eugene Bowman (Diane) and Franklin Bowman (Sue), and her sisters, Nancy Gibson and Brenda Monitan. A devoted mother, Ms. Alice is also survived by her daughter, Kathy Simmons (Joe), who stood by her with love and care.

Ms. Alice's legacy lives on in her six grandchildren: Jason Downing (Savanna), Mitch Downing (Randi), Norman Adaway III (Madalyn), Doni Adaway Lokey (Wayne), Jerod Simmons (Ashley) and Jana Graves. She was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, special nephew, Myron Fillingim (Robi) as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom love her dearly.

Ms. Alice will be deeply missed by all who loved her and all who had the honor of knowing her.
