Janis Horn Obituary

Janis K. Horn of Elba, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at her residence surrounded by family. She was 75.

Memorial services will be a celebration of her life with family and friends, the people she lived for.

She had a lifetime full of varied interests including holding a women’s speed record at the local racetrack, gardening, computer programming and showing people around her pure and true love.

Janis was born April 28, 1948 in Salem Illinois to Ira and Mildred Gammon who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother Melvin Gammon.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Roy Horn; her children Marilyn Oshea (Tim), Rita Chlebek (Bob) and Kristine Mucho-Burger (Tom); siblings Kris Gammon (Debbie), Kelly Meadows, Marvin Meadows and Becky Bernardi (Tony); her grandchildren Timothy Kennedy (Susann), Anthony Martino (Rachel), Jeffrey Martino, Adam Martino (Danny), Joshua Martino (Jessica), Kelly Jackson (Dalton), Patrick Kennedy, Kassidy Mucho, Kaylee Mucho, Mykaela Phelan, Jennifer Chlebek, Kristin Stukel (Rob), Timothy Chlebek (Amber); and 14 great-grandchildren.
